Hey there friends!
I was going through blog withdrawal and felt the need to update everyone on my life. I ran 3 miles this morning at a pretty fast pace and felt great. This is a short running week which is good because I have a bruise on my heel that I think will be solved by a mad tape job by Sir Fianco and new shoes. Until then though, it's painful! Funny enough, my dad has the same problem. I guess it's not funny at all, but ironic. Anyways, my new shoes are in! I'm going to pick them up tomorrow and couldn't be more excited. There's a picture of them at the end of this blog! They come in either highlighter pink or highlighter green. Obviously, I went with the green.
That's about all on the running front. The wedding planning is continuing along. We have our contract for The Olde Pink House, which is SO exciting. I can't wait to celebrate with our friends and family. I know most people will be traveling into Savannah to attend our wedding and I hope everyone can see the beauty and great atmosphere of this place. A lot of people have asked me why I'm not having the wedding in Tucson, which is where I'm originally from and basically I say, I love Tucson and the childhood I had there but I haven't lived there in almost 10 years and growing up, I never envisioned my wedding there. I never really envisioned a wedding at all, but when I did, it was in a green place. I'm fascinated with green (trees, grass, plants) and bridges with water under them. These are things I didn't have growing up. The first time I came to Savannah to visit Sir Fianco almost 5 years ago, I knew I'd get married here even if he wasn't the groom. It just worked out that he is!
I digress... When SF and I first got engaged and figured out our budget, we made a list of things that were most important to us when it came to our day. Number one was food. I think the minute the food touched our mouths at the OPH we knew. Not only was the venue spectacular, their food is out of this world. Second was photography. I like to say, the day after our wedding all we're going to have is our marriage and pictures of what will be the best day of our lives. The dress is negotiable because really, I'm going to be wearing it for maybe 6 hours. Where we actually get married doesn't matter as much because we're getting married... as long as we have a marriage license and someone who is ordained to sign that license, that's the whole reason we're throwing this incredible bash for everyone (and ourselves)!
Ok, so back to photography. I researched plenty of photographers in the Savannah area. Some way too expensive, some not so talented, and some were jusssssst right. So we met with tons of people and love, love, LOVED Teresa Earnest. She has a blog on her website that I stalk frequently that you can get to from that link. So, not only does she take great pictures, but for our initial meeting we stayed there for two hours just talking about everything. We're going to sign our contract with her sometime next week and I'm so excited. We'll be able to hopefully schedule our engagement picture session as well! I know we'll be so happy with our end product and be able to enjoy our pictures for so long. I think when picking a photographer you have to be comfortable with them as a person as well as them as a professional.
Well I think that's about it, until next time.
Keep on running,
Runaway Bride
