Welcome!

Alright kids, here's my first venture into the world of blogging. I got the idea this morning while running. There's the first part of my blog title. I'm a runner... or I want to be. I ran in high school, did cross country in the fall to stay in shape for pole vaulting in the spring. I was not good at cross country. I would come in last at most every race and while I weighed significantly less back then, I run faster now. That's weird to me.
Anyways, I started running again during grad school, then stopped because I became too content in my relationship with Billy Chuck*. He's now my fiancé (the other part of the blog title, but more on that later) and we loved to be really lazy. After moving to Savannah, I realized I really needed to do something about my lack of physical activity so I signed up for a 5k at the beginning of 2010 and somehow convinced BC, his BFF and my BFF to run it with me. Then I got really motivated apparently and decided I wanted to do a 5k, 10k, half marathon and marathon in a year. So I enlisted my father (he's a half marathon veteran) to run the Marine Corps Marathon with me on October 31st, 2010.
So, I'm training for races and loving getting to know Savannah by foot and then in March, BC decides after 5 years, it's about time to get hitched. So after a beautiful 1st evening of Spring and a very amazing and intimate engagement dinner, he pops the question and BAM! I'm planning a wedding too!
We've come up with some of the specifics. We're getting married on 11/11/11 in the beautiful city of Savannah. The ceremony site is going to be the at the Bethesda Home for Boys in Whitefield Chapel. It's adorable, little, and originated as a Methodist chapel. Our reception will be at the Olde Pink House. They don't have a website, but don't let that fool you. This place is AMAZING. Will and I loved the both of the event coordinators there, the food is delish, and the location is PERFECT. One block away from River Street so all the after-partyers can go be wild.
Last, we have my dress. Yes, I realize my wedding is 16 months away and having already bought my dress and letting it chill out in a closet is kind of ridiculous, but it was a STEAL. And it was a brand new steal. A dress shop here closed down and they had a 50% off sale on all their stock. My mom and sister came down to try on dresses with me and we decided to at least check it out to see what they had. Well, they had a beautiful brand new dress in my size that happened to have just arrived for another bride, who unfortunately was no longer getting married. I thought long and hard about the bad juju it may have, but decided it was way to amazing on me to just leave it there. I'm not too excited about trying on clothes in any capacity, but this dress made me LOVE the process. Sorry I can't post a picture, who knows who will read this!
So that's about all I have for today. The formatting will change and get better as I get more used to blogging. Maybe I'll even figure out how to put in pictures and stuff! I'm sure it's not difficult... Keep on running,
Runaway Bride
